In GAM105, we were tasked with creating a narrative game using Fungus, a package created by Snozbot designed around creating text based story games using flowcharts. I came up with a game called Interpol, a small detective game where you use clues to figure out where a criminal has sent a shipment of contraband by finding them in his home, from posters to plane tickets to shipping manifests, the player could also interrogate the criminal with the problem being that said criminal only spoke Romanian to add a level of difficulty.
The gameplay was fairly simple given the brief of it being a narrative game and I decided on making it a point and click adventure game to help with asset creation and lowering the required amount of coding as I struggled with it at the time. The assets of interest being made into buttons that would trigger dialogue and the camera to move to a new view to avoid the player from clicking another button during dialogue and breaking the game. With all the assets being made myself in the free pixel art creator, Piskel.
I did enjoy making Interpol as it was the first narrative heavy game I made and was fun to work on given that I was new to working in Unity that year and helped expand my skills in that area.
